ARNAUD'S STORY

It was very interesting to ask psychotherapist Arnaud the names of the schools, intensive training programmes and therapeutic tools he has studied and practised. He replied 'School of life in progress'.

This may sound 'poetic' and a little romanticised - who doesn't learn in the school of life, right? But indeed, if you know the major stages of Arnaud's life - from a boy with a difficult childhood in France, to an artist (singer, actor), then to a trainer and psychotherapist with a deep and wide knowledge of human functioning - then you will certainly agree with this: Arnaud Guibert is in fact an experienced psychotherapist who lives daily with the philosophies and knowledge he faithfully discovers.

For over 20 years, he has worked with people from all social backgrounds, in prisons, in psychiatry and in companies. He loves and understands people deeply.

Perhaps this is why, when Vietnamese students and clients meet Arnaud for the first time in workshops or one-to-one psychotherapy, they feel so comfortable learning and sharing with him, despite their differences in culture, language and sometimes the need for an interpreter.

ARNAUD ARRIVED TO VIETNAM

In 2018, Arnaud sold everything he owned to go travelling for a year. He needed to take a step back from his life to answer an existential question.

Vietnam was not a destination he had planned. But life took him there, almost in spite of himself. And Arnaud instantly fell in love with the country, as if he had come home. He met fabulous people, learned tons of valuable new things, and feels that life has brought him to the right place.

About Humanistic Hypnosis

You have probably heard that we are 10 to 15% conscious while 85 to 90% of our brain functions in unconscious mode. The goal of hypnosis is to go directly to this part of you that contains a multitude of resources ready to be used. This great reservoir of solutions, like the most powerful "internal computer" ever created, is capable of processing millions of pieces of information simultaneously.

Hypnosis is a natural state in which we are spontaneously in several times a day. Like when we are absorbed in a good book or when we are driving a car in a movie theater. We enter a modified state of consciousness. This same state can be induced during a therapeutic hypnosis session in complete safety. The therapist accompanies the person into this altered state of consciousness, "The Hypnotic Trance", in order to directly address the unconscious mind and mobilize the resources necessary to achieve the person's goal.

For many years now, therapeutic hypnosis has been used in many hospitals and clinics. It is used for anesthesia, hypnosedation, pain management and stress management.

It is also used as a complement to allopathic treatments: fibromyalgia, cancer, multiple sclerosis....
The best known form of hypnosis is Ericksonian hypnosis
It is called dissociative hypnosis because its process dissociates the conscious mind from the unconscious.
The patient is then in a state (trance) somewhat asleep and the therapist communicates with the unconscious mind of the patient to solve the problems that the latter wishes to solve.
There is another kind of hypnosis created by Olivier Lockert in France: humanistic hypnosis.
On a technical level, Humanistic Hypnosis works in the opposite way to other forms of hypnosis.

Where other forms of hypnosis seek to increase the natural dissociation (separation) between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind, leading to a loss of consciousness in the person (and therefore the need for him or her to let go), Humanistic Hypnosis, on the other hand, will bring about the partial or total reassociation (reunification) of the conscious and unconscious minds.

This state of "heightened consciousness" is indeed a modified state of consciousness, and therefore a true state of hypnosis - except that it brings a feeling of lightness, completeness and awakening in the person who, in this way, participates fully in the therapy or coaching.

Humanistic Hypnosis is thus the only form of Hypnosis that is said to be "manipulation-free".

Associated with AST (Advanced Symbolic Therapy) developed by Patricia d'Angeli, Humanistic Hypnosis is based on modern knowledge of psychology, neuroscience, symbology (dream language), physics, the brain and the human mind.

Olivier Lockert and his wife promoted therapeutic hypnosis in France nearly 40 years ago when it was virtually unknown.

Today, they run the first French-speaking hypnosis training institute (Ericksonian and Humanistic), with more than 800 people trained per year, of 70 nationalities, in France and abroad.

Why "work" on oneself?

There is a lot of misunderstanding in the field of mental health

We attribute many of our problems to our "character", as if these behaviors were an inevitability that we could not get rid of.

We therefore formulate our problems as if they were part of our identity:

I'm stressed, I'm angry, I'm a coward, I'm shy, I'm fearful, I'm anxious, depressive, alcoholic, unstable, hypersensitive, jealous, lazy, procrastinator, stingy, phobic etc....

By associating them with our identity, we normalize them.

None of the above problems are "normal".

These behaviors are in no way a part of our identity, they are just behaviors.

They have their origins in our history as children, often and sometimes as adults.

The good news is that, since they are only behaviors, they can - in most cases - be transformed, if they handicap us in life.

Arnaud Guibert practices therapy in the form of brief therapy or mentoring:

  • Brief therapy, depending on the person's needs lasts between 2 and 6 sessions.

  • To treat phobias, only one session may be necessary (2 sessions maximum)

  • Mentoring is indicated for people who want to work in depth and in a more intensive way. It combines therapy and coaching. It is a dedicated program, created specifically for the person. It often takes place over a period of two or three months, with two meetings per week.

Arnaud Guibert determines that his journey to study the mental world and the field of psychotherapy is endless.

Even though he has accumulated a lot of knowledge and experience till the present, he always considers himself an "apprentice" in his life. Because Arnaud wants to keep an open heart and pure “children" eyes when exploring this world.

As an “apprentice”, Arnaud always excited to learn new things every day. And perhaps that is one of the biggest factors that push Arnaud forward further, more skilled in the field of psychotherapy.

If you feel connected and in harmony with the philosophy of Therapist Arnaud Guibert, you can explore two personalized programs with him:
